Honeymoon Cross

This cross holds a piece of our story.

For our honeymoon, we packed up the truck and headed out west for a three-week road trip, sleeping on a mattress in the back and making memories along the way. When we came home, Vic used wood from the back of that very truck to create this cross for us.

At the center is a wooden heart filled with pieces from our adventure—including the running tally from the many, many games of Uno we played along the way and little reminders of the places we visited.

What was once simply part of the truck that carried us on our honeymoon is now something that hangs in our home and brings us right back to that adventure.

It is one of my favorite examples of what HandRooted is all about—taking something ordinary, preserving the story it carries, and turning it into something meaningful enough to keep.
